GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A proposed contract between the Alachua County School Board and the teachers’ union is another step closer to being finalized.
99% of union members with the Alachua County Education Association approved the deal on Wednesday.
Now it goes before the school board on Tuesday of next week.
The contract includes 3% raises across the board among union members.
If approved, the district says the goal is to have the raises and retroactive pay in employees’ first paycheck in November.
The raises would be retroactive to the beginning of the contract year.
