KINGSTON, Pa. — Wyoming Area made an effort to send the game into overtime after scoring their lone goal with two minutes left in the 4th quarter.
Lake Lehman didn't let the pressure get to them. They fought even harder and waited for the clock to tick to 0:00.
The Knights defeated the Warriors, 2-1 at Wyoming Valley West's Spartan Stadium on Wednesday evening to claim the District II 'A' Championship win.
Senior captain, Olivia Oliver, along with junior Gianna Decesaris scored the Knight's two goals.
"It was about working together hard work. We were passing, we were all changing positions. The will to keep driving, they scored on us late but we kept the same focus. Keep driving to the goal and we won," said Decesaris.
The Knights will head to the PIAA 'A' State Playoffs, which begins
