RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A man was shot dead outside of a Richmond church on Wednesday after an argument in its parking lot.

The afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 29, there was a shooting just outside of Fifth Street Baptist Church, which is located at 2800 3rd Avenue in Richmond.

Details are limited at this time, but sources familiar with the incident told 8News that a man was shot in the parking lot of the church following an argument.

He died as a result of his injuries.

No additional information, such as the identity of either person or why they were at the church, is available as of the time of reporting.

8News has reached out to the Richmond Police Department for more details, but has not heard back yet.
