LEXINGTON — No. 2 Sacred Heart soccer continued its quest for back-to-back state titles, taking down No. 3 Lexington Catholic 3-1 on a cold and wet Wednesday night.

The contest was a rematch of last season’s state championship game, which the Valkyries won 3-1.

“It’s just a really good win,” Sacred Heart coach Shaun Francis said. “Lex Cath is a really good program; they have really good coaches and players. We knew coming in how tough the game was gonna be. We’re going to celebrate this one right now and then go back to the drawing board.”
