PHOENIX (AZFamily) — As Halloween weekend approaches, concerns are growing among parents and police after a string of violent incidents at parties across the Valley.
Over the weekend, authorities responded to two shootings and a stabbing, all at Halloween gatherings. Two of those incidents involved teenagers.
Now, with just days until Halloween, law enforcement is stepping up patrols, and parents are urging each other to stay vigilant.
“Yeah, it’s terrifying as a parent,” said teen parent and mental health advocate Katie McPherson.
On Saturday, officers were called to a double shooting in Phoenix, a stabbing in Mesa, and another shooting in Scottsdale. All of them tied to Halloween parties.
