CLINTON TWP. – Talk about finishing up the regular season home games with the first tournament win of the season.

Clinton Township Chippewa Valley did so by going 4-0-2 at its own invite, including a 25-20, 25-17 sweep of Warren Cousino in the finals.

Chippewa Valley also swept Eastpointe (25-15, 25-10) in the semifinals. In pool play, the Big Reds swept both Fraser and Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse and tied both Grosse Pointe North and Utica Ford.

Karmen Owens led the Big Reds with 17 kills and 12 aces, Reagan Lesley slammed 52 kills, Kenzie Marshall recorded eight aces. Lesley broke the 21-year-old career kills record of 1,346 at the tourney.
