VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with another vehicle Wednesday in Vista.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. in the 500 block of North Melrose Drive, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The motorcyclist was riding northbound on North Melrose Drive when an an SUV entered North Melrose Drive, westbound from Dove Circle, and crashed into the vehicle, according to authorities.

The collision caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle and land along the west curb line of the southbound lanes.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
