Reddit has been busy discussing the misuse of work-from-home (WFH) privileges after the manager of a company criticised colleagues for repeatedly skipping work citing power and internet issues.
In the post titled “‘Can't hop on a call because of no electricity’ is an excuse I absolutely can't stand” on r/IndianWorkplace, the user explained how two members of a seven-person team often went offline during working hours, claiming power cuts or network outages.
“It is understandable that one can have network issues for a week or two, but if it continues, shouldn’t you switch providers,” the user questioned, adding: “A UPS for a Wi-Fi router costs barely Rs 1,000.
