Sanofi India Ltd on Wednesday reported a 7.5% decline in profit for the third quarter ended September 30.
The drugmaker’s net profit came in at ₹76 crore, compared with ₹82 crore a year earlier.
Revenue from operations dropped 9.3% to ₹475.4 crore from ₹524 crore a year ago, the company said in an exchange filing.
Despite weaker sales, Sanofi India’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) rose 12% to ₹134 crore, lifting its operating margin to 28% from 23% a year earlier, supported by cost efficiency measures and a favourable product mix.
The company, a unit of French drugmaker Sanofi SA, has been streamlining its portfolio in India to focus on core therapeutic areas such as diabetes and cardiovascular treatments.
