A Gold Coast influencer has claimed a restaurant attempted to charge her more for a dish than the price displayed on the menu.

Natalie Sinead (25), enjoyed a meal and drinks with friends at Latin American restaurant Norté at Mermaid Beach before spotting a problem with the bill.

"The most bizarre thing happened here," she wrote on Instagram .

"This place ‘Norte’ tried to sneakily increase the price of some food on the bill when it wasn’t the same on the menu.

"When I mentioned it to the waitress the vibe was almost like this wasn’t the first time they’d done this but maybe I was the first one who asked."

Ms Sinead was inundated with comments from others who had similar experiences at restaurants across Australia.
