Parents who staged a mass unenrolment from a primary school in regional WA, leaving it with a principal but no students, say it should be closed.

Gairdner Primary School, about 150 kilometres north-east of Albany, had 25 students enrolled in 2021.

By term two last year, there were nine.

At the start of this year, it had none, and there are none enrolled for next year either.

Parents of former students started to withdraw their children in 2023 after complaints concerning staff and the school's ability to meet the needs of the community went unresolved.

Some moved their children to Bremer Bay Primary School, 55 kilometres south, while others, including Megan Dorrell, moved their children to the Jerramungup District School, 30 kilometres north.
