His playing days long behind him, Burns football coach David Devine savors the little things, chief among them how young men develop over the course of a 10-game season.
“We don’t get to play Fridays; our part is done during the week, whether it be on the practice field or film room preparing (Burns players) to be successful on Friday nights,” Devine said. “As a coach, it’s fun finding where pieces fit and watching them thrive in those roles.”
Though acknowledging there would be growing pains, Devine and the Burns football coaching staff savored the opportunity of preparing a roster consisting largely of unproven sophomores and juniors for the 2025 campaign.
