The Toronto Blue Jays are now just one win away from their first World Series championship in 32 years.
The Jays wasted no time getting the offence going with back-to-back home runs in the first inning with the final score being 6-1 over the L.A. Dodgers.
Twenty-two-year-old Trey Yesavage, who started the year in A ball, was absolutely dominant on the mound, punching 12 strikeouts in 7 innings of work – an MLB record for a rookie in the World Series.
The Blue Jays now have a chance to win it all on home turf on Friday night in game six.
First pitch is set for 9:30 Newfoundland Time. Kevin Gausman is expected to get the ball for the Blue Jays. Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who has been pitching like nobody has seen before, is likely to start for the Dodgers.
