Anca Faur Aldrin, who just over two years ago married legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man to set foot on the moon, has died at the age of 66.
Her death was confirmed in a social media post from the Faur and Aldrin families. No cause of death was given.
“I am so fortunate to have found and married the love of my life,” Aldrin, 95, said in a statement. “She brought joy to everything we did together. I will miss her dearly.”
The post says Anca Aldrin was a chemical engineer with a doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh. She served as treasurer for the California Hydrogen Business Council and as executive vice president of Buzz Aldrin Ventures LLC.
People Magazine reports the Aldrin and Faur met in December 2017. They were married on Jan. 20, 2023, his 93rd birthday.
