AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - An Agawam man is dead after being hit by a car Wednesday night.

The Agawam Police Department states that at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers received multiple calls reporting a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Suffield and Mill Street.

When officers and fire crews arrived, the victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died. A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, a 73-year-old man from Agawam, was trying to cross Suffield Street when he was hit by a motor vehicle.
