As the government shutdown approaches its one-month mark this week, families who depend on SNAP benefits — commonly known as food stamps — are bracing to lose access to their funds on Nov. 1.

The Oklahoma City metro area has numerous food banks, pantries and locations that serve hot meals at no cost to families that reside in the area. Some locations require you to provide some form of government ID as well as proof of address to receive help.
