Mohammed Zaher Ibrahim, a 16-year-old Palestinian American from Florida, remains detained in an Israeli prison eight months after his February arrest on rock-throwing charges.

His father, a U.S. citizen, says their American passports offer no protection, despite appeals from 27 U.S. lawmakers for the Trump administration to intervene on the boy’s behalf.

The family also grieves Mohammed’s cousin, a 20-year-old American who Palestinian authorities say was killed by Israeli settlers in the West Bank this year.
