The Watertown-Oakville Boy and Girl Scouts will be working hard on their annual “Scouting for Food” drive. On Saturday, November 1, hundreds of Scouts will drop off thousands of grocery bags with instructions on area doorsteps. The following Saturday, November 8, the scouts will return to pick up donated items in the bags. They will box them and deliver them to the Watertown Food Bank.

The public is asked to leave their donations at their front door or mailboxes before 9 a.m. Saturday, November 8. Checks are always appreciated. The Watertown Social Services Department purchases food and offers citizens holiday assistance. To donate checks, make checks out to “Watertown Food Bank” and mail them directly to Watertown Social Services, Emergency Food Bank, 61 Echo Lake Road, Watertown, CT 067
