FARGO — Firefighters had to rescue people from their apartment during a massive fire in south Fargo.
Firefighters responded to an apartment building on 27th Ave. S. around 2:15 this morning.
The apartment is a few blocks west of South University Drive.
A WDAY News crew on scene saw flames shooting from the roof of the building.
Fargo Fire Marshal Ryan Erickson tells WDAY News that the fire started in the second floor of the building and spread to the third.
Firefighters had to call in extra help because the flames were so large.
They had to evacuate the entire building. As of right now, firefighters don't know when they'll be able to let people back inside.
Apartment resident Josh Younis says he saw firefighters rescuing people with a ladder from a third floor unit.
