Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Thursday announced that the centre will bring strict law against fake seeds and pesticides.

Chouhan, who inaugurated the National FPO Conclave 2025 in Delhi, said, ” The Union government is taking strict action against counterfeit seeds and pesticides and will introduce stringent legislation to protect farmers.”

Expressing concern over price disparity, the minister said farmers often do not get fair prices for their produce, while consumers pay more.

“This gap must be reduced,” he said.

The minister announced that the government will soon introduce a Seed Act to ensure farmers receive high-quality seeds.
