Amid the regular business of a typical neighborhood meeting in Arlington Woods, a mostly-Black neighborhood on Indianapolis' far east side, Greg Garrett broached a topic that animated the residents munching on Chick-fil-A in a church basement.
"This is probably the most despicable thing I've ever seen in my life when it comes to local Indiana politics," said Garrett, interim director of the United Northeast Community Development Corporation, fresh off the news that Gov. Mike Braun is calling lawmakers in for a special session to redraw Indiana's congressional maps mid-decade per President Donald Trump's request.
