In Karnataka, a stay has been imposed on the suspension of BJP MLA Manappa D Vajjal’s PA (Personal Assistant) Praveen Kumar KP from Lingasugur. This stay was granted by the Karnataka State Administrative Tribunal.

The issue arose because Praveen Kumar had attended an RSS programme on 12 October wearing the organization’s attire. The state government took action against him and suspended him. Praveen filed an appeal against this decision in the tribunal.

A bench of the tribunal, headed by Judicial Member S Y Vatvati, passed an interim order on Thursday. The state has also been directed to submit its objections. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for 14 November.

The Karnataka government has been making efforts for a long time to impose restrictions on RSS shakhas in the state. H
