The FCC says a new scheme is targeting cable and streaming customers and it sounds convincing.

People are getting robocalls claiming their "50 percent discount" on streaming and cable services is about to expire. The scammer urges you to act immediately and pressures you to "lock in your savings" by prepaying with gift cards.

That's a big red flag. No legitimate company asks for payment that way. Instead, hang up, contact your provider directly using the number listed on your actual bill or their official website.
