A Rochester man was seriously injured early Thursday morning when stabbed inside a city residence, according to police.

The disturbance occurred inside a home in southwest Rochester around 1:30 a.m. Officers were called to the area of Reynolds Street and Columbia Avenue to investigate and found a man in his 20s who had been stabbed at least once in the upper body, said Lt. Anthony DelVecchio of the Rochester Police Department.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and underwent emergency surgery, DelVecchio said. He was listed in critical, but stable, condition, according to police.
