Handwara, October 26: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah asserted that the three new Rajya Sabha members from Jammu and Kashmir will not succumb to what he termed the “pollution of Delhi”—a metaphor for the isolating effect of the national capital’s politics.
Addressing a gathering in Handwara, CM Omar as per Kashmir Convener, drew a contrast with the past, stating that previous representatives often lost their voice after being affected by Delhi’s political environment.
“Sometimes, the influence of Delhi’s pollution affects our colleagues,” the Chief Minister stated, using a metaphor for the capital’s political climate. “We have sent senior, experienced leaders in the past, but they too were affected. Their voices, once they reached Delhi, became inaudible to us back here.”
