NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore announced that rookie quarterback Tyler Shough will start Sunday, replacing Spencer Rattler.
Moore said both quarterbacks were informed of the decision Tuesday and that the team is “really excited about this opportunity” for Shough.
“He’s been preparing each and every week as if he was the starter,” Moore said. “I feel like he’s ready to go. This will be his first experience starting and going through that full process, and we’re excited about it.”
Moore praised Rattler’s performance and professionalism, saying the he “has proven that he can win games in this league” and that both young quarterbacks “are players we feel really good about.”
Coach Moore said the move was made to spark more consistency from the offense.
