DENVER (KDVR) — A man who was mowing his lawn in Fort Collins started a wildfire, according to the Poudre Fire Authority, prompting safety warnings.
The fire department said that crews were dispatched on Saturday at about 5:30 p.m. to fight a wildfire reported behind a home in the 600 block of Castle Ridge Court. The residential neighborhood is located north of the Werner Elementary School.
Poudre Fire Authority said that multiple callers reported flames were spreading through nearby trees and a ditch area. The agency dispatched a brush truck to the area, as fires in more urban locations like this one can be difficult to access.
