Flood prevention work is set to be cut in some areas of South Gloucestershire to save the council money .
But the authority says it will focus on clearing gullies and drains in higher-risk places while reducing how often it does this in other locations.
The plans are set out in South Gloucestershire Council ’s annual 2026/27 draft budget which is out to public consultation until December 21 to get residents’ views.
The document said: “Some areas are more susceptible to flooding than others.
“We know where these areas are, and we know what is effective in minimising the chances of flooding – clearing gullies and drains and sweeping roads.
