A 5-year-old child was hospitalized and remains in fair condition after falling out of the first floor window of a two-story home in Chicago's West Town neighborhood, according to police.
About 10:56 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a call at Stroger Hospital regarding an inured child, the Chicago Police Department said. After they arrived, officers spoke with a witness who said the 5-year-old boy was playing at a home in the 1700 block of N. Mozart was playing when he lost his balance and fell.
Police confirmed the fall, from the building's first floor window, was accidental.
The child sustained minor injuries and was transported to Stroger Hospital, police said. He was last listed in fair condition.
