WATERTOWN – The Watertown Lion’s Family Wildlife Day this past Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park was a great success. Hundreds of local families came out to interact with Alpacas, Bats, Owls, Hawks, Opossums, a Peregrine Falcon and a huge albino Burmese Python named Lemon Drop.
There were representatives from Connecticut Woodcarvers helping youngsters make walking sticks, DEEP Master Wildlife people with fur bearing and Black Bear presentations, as well as Rotary Club and Lions Club, Audubon and Ripley Waterfowl Conservancy and the Watertown Land Trust. JD Farm of Woodbury brought the Alpacas that kids loved.
