WATERTOWN — Recently, the Trumbull-Porter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) teamed up with the Holy Disciples Catholic Middle School in Watertown to present information on the Old Burying Ground, thanks to the efforts of history teacher Mrs. Samantha Bradshaw and principal Rebecca Goddard.
Members of the DAR Chapter — Regent Penny Nalband, Registrar Colleen D'Amico and Co-Chair Kara Major of the Old Burying Ground and her mother Leslie McKeon — provided historical information to the students in the gym. The entire student body and faculty then traveled to the Old Burying Ground to learn more about ten individuals buried there. Mrs. Major and Mrs. McLeon are direct descendants of Dr. Henry Skilton, who is buried there.
