The complicated break-up between Disney+ and BBC over Doctor Who gets fully revealed in a detailed report. While Doctor Who will return in 2026 , the collaboration between BBC and Disney+ ended after only two seasons, and it appears that there were a lot of factors that caused the two studios to end their working dynamic.

According to Deadline , the end of their partnership came down to multiple factors, which included struggling ratings, a large budget, but also various political factors. A former Disney executive stated to the trade that Disney's faith in the series was not as big as many had thought:
