Chicken offers a lot to like, especially if you're looking for an affordable complete protein source to round out your diet . However, a recent voluntary recall involving a chicken product shows that you can't be too careful when it comes to staying on top of what's safe to eat.
The voluntary recall affects more than four million pounds of frozen chicken sold by Hormel Foods Corporation to commercial clients. According to an October 2025 announcement from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), five types of Hormel Foods heat-and-serve style chicken were pulled due to possible metal contamination.
