The mother of a young woman who died in a fatal bus crash in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD has said her daughter’s death “shattered her life” as the driver at the centre of the crash learns his fate.
Bus driver Lindsay Francis Selby was found guilty of causing the death of Tia Cameron, 18, after his vehicle mounted the footpath in the heart of the River City and crashed as he tried to round a corner.
Selby did not answer questions from waiting media as he entered Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday to learn his fate over the fatal crash.
Police alleged Selby, 72, was behind the wheel of a Brisbane City Council bus when it mounted the footpath and crashed after he turned onto Edward St in Brisbane.
Ms Cameron died in the resulting collision.
