Even the Saskatchewan Roughriders have watch parties.
While most of the country has been gathering at TV sets for World Series games between Canada’s lone Major League Baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays , and the reigning-champion Los Angeles Dodgers, the Roughriders will get together to watch this weekend’s CFL playoff telecasts.
“I would love to be playing,” said Riders receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker. “But watching and making money while resting, it ain’t bad either.”
The Roughriders finished first in the West, earning a bye into the league’s second playoff round, and will get paid $3,400 apiece whether they watch or not.
