Floyd Roger Myers Jr., who played a young Will Smith on the '90s sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and starred in "The Jacksons: An American Dream," has died at 42, according to a new report.
Myers' mother Renee Trice told TMZ the former child actor died early Wednesday, Oct. 29, from a heart attack at his Maryland home. Myers suffered three prior heart attacks over the last three years, Trice told the outlet.
During his acting career, Myers played a young version of Smith in a Season 3 "Fresh Prince" episode, "Will Gets Committed," in 1992. The same year, he played a young Marlon Jackson in the TV miniseries "The Jacksons: An American Dream," chronicling the rise and the hardships of the Jackson 5 and the Jackson family musical dynasty.
His last recorded role was in 2000 as an unnamed student in the 2000 TV series "Young Americans."
As an adult, Myers went on to own a Maryland-area duct cleaning business and cofounded The Fellaship Men's Group, empowering men's mental health as well as "support, self-improvement & real conversations," according to the group's Instagram page.
The group also paid tribute to Myers in a post Wednesday.
"RIP to our good brother @rocwonder one of our co founders. Gone but never will be forgotten," the group said in a statement. "The mission will continue in your honor. Next mens meeting will be one for the books like we talked about! Love you bro, rest easy, big bro will take it from here."
Myers shared a video to Instagram in September celebrating his daughter's 10th birthday, looking forward to the next 10 years of their lives together.
"Happy 10th birthday to my baby girl!! The life of the party and always a bright light in the room!! I’m so happy to be your father can’t wait what the next 10yrs," he wrote in the caption.
