Trey Yesavage had girlfriend Taylor Frick in tears over his historic performance in Game 5 of the Blue Jays’ 6-1 victory against the Dodgers on Wednesday, putting Toronto one win away from the World Series title.
The 22-year-old right-handed rookie — who made his MLB debut in September — is the first player ever to record 12 strikeouts and no walks in a World Series.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Frick reposted the feat and wrote, “Still crying.”
She added, “Best day ever!!!
Frick, 23, graduated from East Carolina in May, and the couple met there. They first went public with their relationship in December 2023.
Yesavage struck out 12 batters in seven innings at Dodger Stadium to give Toronto a 3-2 series lead.
