The Oklahoma Department of Human Services will begin temporary employee furloughs Nov. 2 because of the ongoing federal government shutdown.
Sources tell Griffin Media that employees earning more than $50,000 a year will have multiple furlough days, with the number of days based on annual salary.
Employees with an annual base salary of $100,000 or more will have three furlough days per pay period.
Employees with an annual base salary of $50,000 to $100,000 or more will have two furlough days per pay period.
Employees who make less than $50,000 a year are exempt from the furlough.
In a message to employees, obtained by Griffin Media, the department said the furloughs are being implemented to “maintain the department’s financial stability.”
