Australia rode on Phoebe Litchfield’s stunning hundred to post a whopping 338 in the second semifinal of the Women’s ODI World Cup, posing India a massive challenge in their tryst for a maiden ICC title.
Opting to bat first, Australia lost skipper Alyssa Healy in just the sixth over, but Litchfield and Ellyse Perry built a brilliant 155-run partnership for the second wicket to take their team to a great position.
After Litchfield was dismissed by Amanjot Kaur, Perry and Beth Mooney added 40 runs for the third wicket, before the latter was dismissed by Shree Charani.
Australia soon found themselves at 265/6 before Ashleigh Gardner and Kim Garth added 66 runs for the seventh wicket. After the former was run out by Kranti Gaud, Australia were bowled out for 338.
