A 27-year-old Vancouver man is facing drug trafficking charges after a search of his vehicle near Kindersley allegedly turned up 20 kilograms of illegal drugs.
A traffic officer pulled over a vehicle on Highway 7, west of Kindersley “for a driver’s licence, registration and sobriety check,” the Saskatchewan RCMP said in a statement, and subsequently detained the driver for a “drug investigation.” A police dog was called in, and the RCMP said the dog detected the smell of narcotics coming from the rear part of the vehicle.
