A Burlington city councillor is seeking an audit of the city’s process for selecting a competitive youth swimming program provider.

Ward 2 Coun. Lisa Kearns’ notice of motion is on the Nov. 3 committee of the whole agenda and is scheduled to go to the Nov. 18 city council meeting for a decision.

“Community members have voiced their concerns for transparency around the decision-making for the space allocation process performed in 2025 to award pool time to competitive swimming programs within city-run pools,” the motion stated.

Burlington Aquatic Devilrays (BAD) raised concerns about the tender process in June after it lost its bid to continue providing youth competitive swimming in Burlington to the Golden Horseshoe Aquatic Club (GHAC).
