Defensive Effort Still Intact
The 42-0 loss at Texas Tech came with special teams miscues a blocked punt and kickoff return touchdown — that made the score look worse than the defensive effort, according to Holcomb.
“Defensively, they still played hard,” he said. “If the baseline is: are guys still giving effort? Then yes, they are.”
Interim defensive coordinator Clint Bowen continues to stress fundamentals, putting heavy focus on tackling drills and discipline. Pfeil added that
