Blood pressure medication recalled due to cancerous chemical

Teva Pharmaceuticals has recalled more than half a million bottles of prazosin hydrochloride capsules, which are used to treat high blood pressure.

The FDA says the capsules may contain nitrosamine impurities, which can cause serious health risks.

More than 500,000 bottles of blood pressure medication have been recalled for having high levels of a cancer-causing chemical.

The voluntary recall was issued by New Jersey-based Teva Pharmaceuticals for its prazosin hydrochloride capsules.
