Cuttack: In tragic incident, a minor boy went missing while taking bath in the Mahanadi River at Odisha’s Cuttack city with his friends on Thursday.

According to sources, Babu Nayak of Thoria Sahi in the city slipped into the deep water and was unable to swim back to safety. His friends also failed to rescue him. ADVERTISEMENT

On receiving information about the incident, a team of fire service personnel rushed to the site and launched a rescue operation. They were yet to trace the missing boy.

The search was suspended due to darkness after evening. The operation will resume on Friday morning. The authorities are working to locate Babu.
