DES MOINES, Iowa -- For those who have always wanted to own a piece of the Iowa State Fair, their chance is now.
The Iowa State Fair is hosting its second liquidation auction, featuring everything from lumber and sheep pens to more sentimental items like fair-branded banners and doors from the horse barn, which is currently under renovation.
Jeremy Parsons, CEO of the Iowa State Fair, said it was time to host an auction and last year's was very successful.
"When you live someplace for 139 years on 400 acres like the Iowa State Fair is, you accumulate a lot of stuff," Parsons said. "So for the second year in a row, we're just kind of liquidating some surplus inventory, whether it's old banners, old signs, perhaps it's some items out of our renovation projects... so again, just a chance f
