PEORIA, Ill. – Dream Center Peoria is launching an emergency relief effort to help families worried about having enough food on the table.
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits from the federal government are expected to cease on November 1.
Dream Center Peoria Executive Director Andy King tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” they’ve received a lot of calls and requests for assistance since it was announced the government will be ending food assistance programs at the end of the month.
Starting November 4, Dream Center Peoria will be teaming up with several local churches as drop-off sites for non-perishable food, toiletry and hygiene items.
On Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-noon, items can be dropped off at Northwoods Community Church on N. Allen Road in Peoria.
