CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Marcus Zeigler’s family flips through photos capturing the day he was sworn into the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, remembering his smile and the career that seemed perfect for the 36-year-old husband and father of four.

“Oh, it was awesome,” said Deloris Palmer, Zeigler’s aunt. “It was awesome and just to see him sitting there. He had the biggest smile on his face. Still does.”

Zeigler, who ran his own concealed carry weapons business and often trained other law enforcement officers, was thriving in his new role as a sheriff’s recruit. He loved to work out and motivate those around him.
