The weekend is almost here and overall, the weather is looking pleasant for Halloween and college football , but it will start out chilly and according to the National Weather Service in Jackson, parts of Mississippi may see the first frost of fall.

A cold front moved through this week and opened the door for cooler temperatures. Friday morning will have the coolest temperatures of the season, so far. Lows in the state are expected to hover around 40 degrees Friday morning with temperatures slightly colder to the north and a few degrees warmer to the south.

However, according to the National Weather Service, parts of Mississippi north of the Interstate 20 corridor and along and east of the Interstate 55 corridor may experience patchy frost. This could cause damage to unprotected veg
