(WFRV) - John and Heather Hoffman were on an anniversary trip in Jamaica when Hurricane Melissa's path tore through the region, and after providing an update with Local 5, the couple says they are lucky to be uninjured and safe.

After losing power and water following Hurricane Melissa's impact on the resort where the Hoffmans were staying in Ocho Rios, Heather posted on Facebook, "We are lucky."

The damage caused a mess at the resort, with Heather saying that every tree is either damaged or down. Although they have power and water back, the next step is getting home safely.
