A Good Morning Britain star has announced their departure from the station after 25 years as he said he was ‘privileged’ in a statement.
Richard Gaisford began working on the ITV current affairs programme back when it was known as GMTV in February 2000.
Going to become the programme’s longest serving chief correspondent after being appointed in 2006, Richard has been seen reporting several of the century’s biggest news stories.
Becoming the first UK broadcast journalist to report live from Basra in Iraq in 2003, Richard has also covered the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004 and was in the Atacama Desert for the rescue of the Chilean miners in 2010.
Recent years have seen Richard providing Good Morning Britain updates on the wars in both Ukraine and the Middle East.
